How many U of rack space should be left above and/or below a PS-100 for cooling purposes? I already blew a power tube with the unit in open air so now I’m worried about rack mounting it.

Plenty of space around the rack kit. As long as the back is open you should be fine. Tube quality is all over the place. I doubt cooling issues had anything to do with blowing one.
