Is it normal for my Power Station to make a "thunk" sound when powered on?

Yes, its normal and fine.

Turn-on causes the power transformer to draw lots of current. That initial inrush current spike causes the power transformer to behave like a big electromagnet. The “thunk” is the electromagnetic field instantaneously yanking on the outer chassis wall. All high power amps do this. It’s more noticeable here because of the compact construction.
