Switching and Loops aside… How do the new versions sound and feel compared to a 2007 version with the Choke Filter??
Well, there’s OOG, which is the choke filtered original rev.
Next is the OG non-choke filtered version which is a little greasier (more touch-sensitive) and had more aggressive gain on More mode.
Between the Series I and II came the aftermarket FX Loop kit.
After that is the first Series II which gets the built-in FX Loop, and Solo mode with assignable Bright and More switch positions. It also differs on the power amp response, which is more open and dynamic sounding, especially on clean settings.
The Series II power amp architecture is the same on both the 60 and 120, where the OG 60 had a more angry edge compared to the Gojira footprint of the 120. With this update they both are capable of the angry and Gojira vibe.
Finally, the Series II+ which got the assignable Gain II treatment. This is as close as this amp gets to a two-channel setup without actually having two channels. Not a lot of difference on the More side save for a bit more gain, but the Less more is way more dynamic and rich sounding for clean to mid gain playing.
That’s about it in a nutshell.

Interesting to have them all directly compared. Mine is a OG no choke D120.
My Board says REV 1.2, 2004-2007…
I find it curious that you say the new Amps are more dynamic… THIS Amp is really dynamic.
I call it wielding Excalibur… It’s a beast.
I bought and installed the Loop some years ago. It works good.
