My PS-2a is not sending sound to my speaker cabinet via speaker out. The line out to my interface seems to work fine. After doing some research, it was suggested that I change the power tubes. If that doesn’t work, I need to change the internal and main fuses. If that doesn’t work, I need to try the 12AX7 Preamp. So far, I have changed out the power tubes with no success. I want to move onto the fuses, but I cannot find accurate information on what fuses to buy. Is the internal fuse and the main fuse the same? On the YouTube video from a few years ago that Fryette put out there is a link for the proper internal fuse, but the link is broken. Could someone tell me exactly what fuses to buy in the US? Thanks!
Hi Sound and welcome to the community!
Here are the recommended debugging steps for no sound from the user manual.
- Check input cable.
- Check volume controls.
- Make sure the amplifier volume and/or gain controls are turned up.
- Check to see if the effects loop is connected correctly (disconnect everything and check for sound).
- Check speaker cable to see if it is disconnected or shorted.
- Make sure that the impedance selector is fully engaged in its detent.
- Check the standby switch.
- Check for a blown speaker.
- Check the mains fuse, and replace if necessary.
If it blows again, refer to qualified service personnel.
Internal fuse:
- 250V 630mA
- Fast acting / Fast blow
- 5mm x 20mm
- Part number: Littlefuse 0217.630VXP
Thanks for letting us know about the broken link… I need to find a way to get in touch with Joe.

Thanks for the reply. I just order both the fuses and will try that. The check list was helpful, but unfortunately, I have tried them all with no success. Fingers crossed on the blown fuses!
Please see this updated FAQ on fuses What fuses to I need for the Power Station PS-2?
The correct internal fuse for your PS-2 is [Littlefuse 0217.630MXP] (https://mou.sr/4h0BMBE) (or 0217.630HXP, 0217.630VXP, 0217.630TXP).
The mains fuse depends on the mains voltage of your region.

Dan
