Ps-100 Failure after less than 5 hours

Okay Folks,
It looks like I may have a Power tube failure on my new Ps-100.

Purchased in November from Vintage King and delivered on December 17th (back ordered).

Current setup: Mesa DC-5 8ohm jack- PS-100 @ 8ohm- 2x12 cab 8ohm. Also have XLR out to computer interface for silent recording.

Situation: today after about 15 minutes of playing I started to notice the volume dropping rapidly. I stood up to see the left power tube glowing bright red. Right after I made it to my feet the volume cut, there was a slight squeal, then silent. Bypass mode still works for the amp-cab as well as amp-computer but I have no volume through either channel. I then open the fryette up and find that the external fuse is intact but the internal f401 tube is blown. I cant find any evidence of burning on the board.

It seems that others are having similar issues. I leave town tomorrow morning to work for a week so there isn’t anymore troubleshooting I can do for the moment. Does this sound like faulty tubes or something more?

Many thanks,
Jacob

Hi @GingerFlyBoy welcome to the community :tada:

Sorry to hear this, but yes it does indeed sound like tube fault. If you email Fryette following these instructions they should send you out a new set free of charge also ask for replacement fuses

These are the fuses What fuses do I need for the Power Station PS-2 and PS-100?

And this is how you replace tubes and fuses How do I change the tubes and fuses in the Power Station

Regards

Dan

Hey Dan,
I sent a parts request email on the morning of 12/24. Afterward I received two replies. One stating the email had been received, and another stating it was an invalid address and that I didn’t have privileges to post in that category (as if my email was being sent to the forum?). I just want to be sure my parts request was received.

Many thanks,
Jacob Wilson
