How to access Fryette service/submit a request for factory service?

Hey all! I am not seeing a way to access Fryette directly to initiate a repair, not sure if this is still offered by the factory. I have a couple older VHT-badged Pittbulls, and one of them (a late-year 50/CL) is exhibiting a number of issues (specifically the volume jumps back and forth between loud/quiet with crackling/other noises intermittently occurring. This makes the amp unusable. Also, the footswitch input on the amp appears to have stopped functioning properly (EQ and Effects loops switches on the foot switch do nothing to activate/deactivate these features on the amp, Footswitch works normally with other Pittbulls).

Is it still possible to have this amp brought back to its former glory by Fryette Service? If so, how would I initiate a repair? And, obviously shipping amps is expensive, but also somewhat difficult to pack properly. Would Fryette be able to provide an appropriate box with packing materials? I have sent emails in the past with no luck in getting a reply, saw this forum and signed up with renewed hope, so any guidance here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks for your question.

Here is a link that will help you arrange an RMA:

https://www.fryette.com/manuals-support/

We’re happy to assist with servicing on older models. Please be aware that we are backed up at the moment, so our current lead time is longer than normal.

We can send you packaging, but because of the way UPS calculates shipping cost for large items, an empty box costs the same to ship whether or not there is a 50lb amp inside. So, you’re better off arranging your own packaging.

Hey Dave. Thank you for the reply. Time is not an issue, as having it fixed properly once will likely save both time and money in the long run (don’t ask me how I know, but I am sure you already do)! Noted on the packaging. I will see what I can find here. Thanks!

Good afternoon,

Went through and tried to submit a RMA request, but received this auto-reply:

We’re sorry, but your email message to [“Support@fryette.com”] (titled RMA REQUEST: Repair/refurbish VHT/Fryette 50/CL) didn’t work.

Your account does not have the privileges to post new topics in that category. If you believe this is an error, contact a staff member.

Any other way to get this going? I have had troubles accessing support in the past (usually in the form of not receiving any response), I understand it’s busy there, so if you know of any shops in the California Bay Area that you might recommend, that would also be helpful. Thanks!

A post was split to a new topic: Can I return my Fryette combo for a service by just sending the chassis?

Hi @hexade

I can check the status of your request when I am back on Tuesday. Sorry for the delay, I’m on holiday.

I will see if the email arrived and give you an update. Poke me here if I don’t get back to you :face_with_open_eyes_and_hand_over_mouth:

@hexade I’ll follow this up tomorrow, sorry for the delay, it turns out today was my first day back and was busy. Did you hear anything from the factor yet?

Hey Dan. Thanks. Nope, no reply from support. Thanks!

Ok and you private message me the email and I will make sure someone sees it
