Issue with POWER STATION: MODEL PS-2A

Hi,
Hope you are doing well.

Today my Fryette PowerStation PS-2A stopped working, it turns on but the operate switch is not working (there is sound but it’s not attenuating at all).

Before it stopped working, I heard intermittent loud popping and crackling noises coming out of the speaker, so I had to turn it off. Then back on, it worked fine for few minutes and then the operate switch stopped working. These noises only happened when the Operate switch was engaged, on bypass there was no noises.

What could be the problem? I bought it last year, not a heavy user… could it be a tube?

Yes, quite likely this is the tubes and maybe an internal fuse.

You can serve those parts yourself, it it worth a go, the next step would be to send it in for a repair.
