Power Load into FX Loop of 2nd Amp

I have a single channel amp with no effects loop. I would like to take its output (that would normally go into a speaker cabinet) and run this into the effects loop return of a second amp instead.

I don’t see this application example in the manual, but it looks like I can safely take the speaker cable leaving the first amp (the one with no effects loop) and plug it into a PL-IR’s AMP IN jack, then run a guitar cable from either ANALOG OUT 1 or ANALOG OUT 2 (or even the HEADPHONE FX LOOP SEND) on the PL-IR into the effects loop return of my second amp without causing myself any trouble.

Do I have this correct?

Hey @someguitarplayer and welcome to the community! :tada:

Yes, this sounds fine to me, but make sure you use ANALOG OUT 1 because this is the raw signal from your amplifier without any cab. sim. applied.

Dan

Thanks @dan for the reply and the reminder about ANALOG OUT 1. I decided to pick up a PL and try this out.
