Hi all, I’m hoping someone will know why the Brite and Warm switches don’t appear to affect the tone. Same issue with the presence and depth dials? I’m going from Amp Speak out into the AMP IN jack and Speaker Out One to Speaker.
The volume attenuation is working fine. Just not the other controls. Could it be a tube issue? Thanks in advance, Dan
These switches all have quite a subtle effect, they are not EQ switches.
This is a little complicated to get into, but think of the brite and warm switches as different types of speakers. The presence and depth are really controls that change the properties of the negative feedback loop. Moreover, yes these controls have a tonal effect, but really they are playing with the nonlinearities in the system. I find they tend to have a big impact on the dynamics and I use that works lightly because it is very undefined I know. I come down to feel.
I hope my hand waving arguments are useful or at least start a discussion !
