PS-2 Help: No Sound (changed tubes, fuses look fine)

Hey guys!

Seems my PS-2 is no longer giving me any output to my cab as of this AM. Last night, I was sure I heard a slight dip in volume, as well as the highend – but chalked it up as ear fatigue (which it may have been, but figured I’d mention it anyway just to be safe).

When the unit is bypassed, all works and I’m getting sound out of the cab – so I’ve identified that it’s not an issue elsewhere in the chain.

I came across several posts and the main culprit to this issue seems to be either a blown fuse, or a faulty power tube, and one post even said replacing the preamp tube rectified the issue. When checking the fuses, none are blown – and I’ve replaced all the tubes tonight with a pair of Sovtek 5881/6L6WGC as well as a JJ Electronic ECC83/12AX7A Preamp Tube.

After swapping 'em and letting the unit sit on (bypass enabled) for 30 mins or so – I’m seeing some tube glow, but when going to playtest – nadda.

Hoping you guys could help me out with this, and look forward to hearing back!

Thanks so much.

Hey @dylanmakesnoise welcome to the community :tada:

I’m glad you could find this information! Power Station: Troubleshooting Guide there are many steps to cover when debugging no-sound condition. I think you have done most of them?

Here is how you can check the all fuses including the internal ones How do I change the tubes and fuses in the Power Station

If the fuses blow again with new tubes then something else is wrong, and it will probably need a service.

Here some repair options if we get to that point:

Hey Dan! Thanks for the reply.

Turns out my eyes were the problem and I couldn’t see the fuse was blown while initially trouble shooting. After changing the internal fuse with the new tubes – she’s up and running again.

Thanks a lot for the help bud!
