Chasing noise in my Memphis

I’m trying to figure out what my clean channel is so noisy.

I’ve taken it to 2 techs who couldn’t work on it without a schematic. It’s not tube related as we swapped every single tube out multiple times and nothing changed.

There’s a lot of background noise on the clean channel that seems to be related to the volume and EQ knobs. I got it used and I’m not sure if this is normal behavior or not. The gain channel is totally fine.

Welcome to the community @rollylama :tada:

I must congratulate you for such as well posed question.

I am pretty sure Fryette will work with any reputable tech near you, including sharing schematics.

They also will accept this for a repair if you so wish?

Let me known what you want to do.

Dan

Thanks! Yeah I’d probably opt to send it in at this point and just get an entirely clean bill of health.

The problem of clean passage is a common problem. I sent an email to fryette, and they said that this is how it was designed. I don’t know if this problem can be solved.

Regarding the bottom noise of clean, there is no distortion channel. I don’t know if fryette has tried to solve it. If so, you can publish the solution here. Thank you. Memphis is a very good box. I like it very much.

Hi 亮,

Glad you like the Memphis. This videos above are from an amplifier that has some issues and needs a services. The Memphis is no more noisy then any other amps of type. Can you post a video of what you mean? It would be interesting to see.

Dan

There is a distortion channel. This noise is on the clean channel and I’ve been trying to figure out how to get it fixed since December 2023, lol.

My question is the same as the video he posted. It should be like this from the factory. This is what the brand new purchase is like.

I’ve completely given up on this now.

What have you given up on, this?

That’s quite easy to do,

Here to help if you need something else.

Dan
