Hi I connected my Helix as per manual, from the 1/4" out on the Helix to the line in on the Fryette but got a terrible high pitched noise. I’m connected guitar to Friedman input.
The volume on the Helix was at zero and the output was set to line.
I’m trying to use the time based effects of the Helix with he non loop Friedman.
What am I doing wrong? Am I routing the cable correctly or is there a better way?
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you,
Hi Butterfingers,
Welcome to the community!
If I have understood you correctly, you want to connect a Friedman amp head to the PS-2 and use the Line 6 Helix as an effects unit. In this case, the Helix should be connected to the FX loop of the Power Station, not the line in. So, you would use one of the Helix’ FX loops and connect Helix FX return to PS-2 FX send and Helix FX Send to PS-2 FX return.
This video from Line 6 might help as a reference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wvz3L8bJb1w
This is actually how it should be described in the PS-2 manual as well. Please check your wiring again and let us know if this solves the problem.
Best regards,
Julian
Thank you Julian I did read the manual and try that also with the same results. I now think maybe the settings on the Global outs on the Helix may not of have been correctly set.
I will connect back up as you suggested and recheck the Helix out settings.
Thank you for replying so quickly.
Hi Julian, thank you for the advice.
Believe it or not and i feel a fool for saying this but somehow a speaker lead found its way into my instrument leads.
Put right lead in and bingo.
Thanks for your assistance
