Recently i powered up my PS-2A and there was an odd Pop. I opend it up and noticed the internal fuse blew. Is this a capacitor issue or a tube issue? Wonder if i should send it in incase its an issue with the power section of the module
Blowing fuse usually indicate an issue with the tubes, do you have a spare set you can try and swap in? Did you notice the tubes red plating?
I put new fuse an tubes in. Appears to be fine now. The last tube was glowing blue
That’s great!
The blue glow is caused by the electron beam exciting electrons in the rarefied gas modules to their excited state, when they relax back they emit visible photons.
The red plating is thermal radiation emitted by the anode metal plates. This is bad news.
tl;dr: blue good, red bad.
